Company overview
Apollo Motorhomes, also known as Apollo Motorhome Holidays, traces its beginnings to 1985 and founders Gus and Carolyn Trouchet. The business grew under family leadership before Apollo Tourism & Leisure listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in November 2016. Its combination with Tourism Holdings Limited, usually known as thl, was completed in 2022.
Today, Apollo is a rental brand within thl, whose activities include vehicle manufacturing, rental and sales. Apollo's current rental offer covers Australia and New Zealand. Customers book a vehicle category; the wider group's international presence does not determine where an Apollo rental can be collected. Apollo RV Sales is a separate outlet for former rental vehicles.

Apollo's range works well for parties whose accommodation needs go beyond a berth count: simple campervans and bathroom-equipped motorhomes offer materially different ways of living on the road. That variety is less straightforward across markets, where a shared category name can mean different bathroom facilities and adult sleeping arrangements in Australia and New Zealand.
The direct Australian protection options add a financial trade-off between daily cost, accident liability and the security required at collection. For eligible bookings, paying for The High Road reduces the stated accident liability to zero and removes the liability deposit. This lowers the upfront security requirement in exchange for a higher daily cost, while a card authority and responsibility for excluded damage remain.

- Bathroom-equipped choices for smaller parties.An onboard toilet and shower are available in two-person categories, so a couple need not move into a family-sized motorhome solely to gain those facilities.

- Northern Australian pickups are seasonal.Alice Springs, Broome and Darwin close from 1 December to 31 March under the 2026–27 conditions. A route relying on one of those branches must fit its operating season.
- A 4WD booking still has route limits.The Australian Adventure Camper's standard allowance is 300 km per day, and road restrictions and permissions continue to apply. Its drivetrain does not make every track a permitted route.

Apollo's range spans compact campervans, bathroom-equipped motorhomes and a two-person Australian 4WD camper. All categories described here use automatic transmission and diesel engines. The Euro Mini and Adventure Camper are Australian options; the Euro Tourer, Euro Plus, Euro Quest, Euro Camper and Euro Deluxe are offered in both countries.
The first important distinction is bathroom equipment. Australia's Hitop and Endeavour have neither a toilet nor a shower. Their New Zealand counterparts carry a portable or concealed toilet but still have no shower. For two adults wanting both facilities, Australia's Euro Mini and the Euro Tourer in either country provide that combination without spare sleeping places for a larger party.
Bed allocation matters as much as total capacity. The Australian Endeavour accommodates two adults and two children, whereas the New Zealand category sleeps four adults. The Euro Plus in both countries is arranged for two adults and one child. Four adults have the Euro Quest or Euro Camper to consider, while the six-adult Euro Deluxe uses three sleeping areas, including the dinette. Bed dimensions and layouts can differ between countries even where the category name is shared.
The Adventure Camper takes a different approach to living space: it has an outdoor kitchen and a cold outdoor shower, with no toilet. Its 4WD capability needs to be assessed alongside the permitted-road rules and kilometre allowance, rather than as a substitute for either.
In New Zealand, all seven categories are described as self-contained. The individual vehicle's certification and local parking rules still determine where it may be used for an overnight stay. Solar panels, where fitted, support battery charging; they do not promise unlimited domestic power. Appliances such as a microwave or rear air conditioning may require a 240 V connection.

It depends on the country. The Australian Hitop has neither. The New Zealand Hitop has a portable or concealed toilet but no shower. Both sleep two adults, so the name and capacity alone will not distinguish their bathroom facilities.
Can four adults travel and sleep in an Apollo Endeavour?
The New Zealand Endeavour has four travel seats and sleeps four adults. The Australian Endeavour also has four travel seats, but its sleeping arrangement is for two adults and two children. The New Zealand roof bed has a 225 kg weight limit.
