The interior-sleeping Dusters keep the bed within the SUV, while the Jimnys put it in a rooftop tent. Combined setups divide sleeping space between the vehicle and the roof. That distinction matters as much as the number of berths when deciding how the occupants will share their accommodation.
The automatic Subaru Legacy offers another interior-sleeping option, but it cannot be driven on F-roads. Several Duster and Jimny categories, as well as the Explorer, carry F-road permission; four-wheel drive alone does not establish that permission for every category. The standard two-person camping kit includes bedding, towels, cooking equipment, a coffee press, dishes, cleaning supplies and a cooling box. A table and two chairs are excluded from the winter kit.
