The financial and route commitments deserve as much attention as the camper itself. A compact vehicle does not mean a small security hold, and Koru’s driving restrictions rule out some routes that might otherwise seem practical. The strongest fit is a planned Christchurch return trip where those conditions work from the outset.

The Koru range pairs a small automatic camper with a larger manual van, both designed around a convertible double bed. Transmission and usable space are the clearest starting points for choosing between them.
The petrol Toyota Estima is approximately 4.8 metres long and 1.7 metres high. Its double bed measures around 1.80 × 1.20 metres, and the kitchen has one gas burner. This is the more compact option; its heating and air conditioning serve the driving area, with neither listed for the living space.
The diesel LDV has a wider double bed, approximately 1.80 × 1.40 metres, and around 1.70 metres of interior height. It gives two travellers more room, though taller occupants should still consider the standing height. Its manual transmission is a defining difference from the Estima. The LDV rental listing we reviewed does not permit baby seats or booster seats.
Both categories have a toilet but no shower or hot water.
