Background

Company overview

Let’s Go Motorhomes is an Australian rental brand operated by Around Australia Motorhomes Pty Ltd. The company has been active since March 2001; the Let’s Go Motorhomes business name was registered in December 2016.

Jayco is central to the offer: it builds the rental vehicles, backs the brand and provides access to its national service network. The range brings together campervans and larger motorhomes built on several vehicle platforms, with pickup locations in major cities and regional centres. Some regional locations operate through agencies or dealers, so the rental setup is not identical everywhere.

Our verdict

Editorial review

Let’s Go Motorhomes offers meaningful choice within familiar travelling-party sizes. The differences between its vehicles affect how people sleep, cook and spend time inside, rather than simply adding another berth. That makes the range worth exploring in detail before settling on a category.

The rental proposition is less straightforward once protection and disruption enter the picture. A convenient layout and well-equipped vehicle can make for a comfortable trip, but the daily rate alone does not capture the financial commitment. The liability package, card debit and remaining exclusions deserve as much attention as the vehicle itself. The overall appeal is strongest when the route, category and contract are settled together before booking.

Good points

  • A useful starting kit.Standard rentals include bedding, towels, cooking utensils, a camping table and chairs, as well as unlimited kilometres. There is less basic equipment to assemble separately before leaving the pickup location.
  • Room for different family sizes.Quatro, Excursion and Royale provide distinct four-, five- and six-person options. Their child-restraint provisions also differ, giving families more to work with than a berth count alone.
  • Support beyond the pickup location. The Jayco service network and included round-the-clock assistance for inherent mechanical faults provide a practical support framework during a trip. That framework does not guarantee an immediate repair or a replacement vehicle.

Things to consider

  • Protection remains limited at the top of the range.Even Platinum Plus leaves important exclusions, including overhead and underbody damage. Its zero deposit and liability figure for covered incidents must not be read as freedom from every damage cost.
  • A breakdown can leave travel plans exposed.A replacement vehicle is discretionary. The liability arrangements do not cover accommodation, alternative transport, missed flights or lost time, subject to applicable Australian consumer rights.
  • Handover and fault resolution are not uniformly praised.Multi-branch Google and national ProductReview feedback captured in September 2026 includes both positive accounts of helpful staff and comfortable trips, and repeated complaints about vehicle preparation, faults and damage or deposit disputes. These are mixed experiences from self-selected review samples, not a prediction for every branch or rental.

The standard range consists of nine automatic diesel categories, with a particularly varied choice of living arrangements for two people and larger vehicles for families.

Tourer keeps the facilities relatively simple, with a portable toilet and no indoor shower. Escape adds an onboard shower and toilet, with a main bed that can be arranged as a double or two singles. Atlas has a shower and a different Fiat-based layout. These distinctions matter more than treating every small vehicle as interchangeable.

Wanderer adds a club lounge and a long main bed; its exceptional child place needs advance approval. Roamer takes a different approach with an electric bed above the living space. Their layouts offer different ways to use the interior during the day without moving straight to one of the largest family vehicles.

Quatro and Excursion are both about 8.1 metres long, but carry four and five people respectively. Royale accommodates six and uses a slide-out queen bed. A family should choose around the actual seats, restraint positions and sleeping arrangements, rather than assuming that a larger body provides another usable child place.

Adventurer has greater ground clearance and tougher tyres, with limited permission for some signed dirt and gravel roads. It is not a four-wheel-drive vehicle, and its separate road and liability conditions are essential to the choice.

Journey is a separate offer outside the nine standard categories. Its availability and special conditions need written confirmation; it should be considered separately from the standard range. Vehicle photographs and category specifications do not guarantee a particular model year, chassis or individual vehicle.

Before booking

Practical facts

The policies, inclusions and charges that are specific to a Let’s Go Motorhomes rental.

TopicWhat to know
Minimum hireStandard rentals start at seven days, with pickup and return each charged as a full day. Peak periods and one-way routes can require longer. Five- or six-day hires are available by request with Bronze protection only.
Booking paymentFor direct bookings under the terms effective from 23 February 2026, the booking deposit is AUD 500, or 10% when the booking total exceeds AUD 5,000. The balance is due before or at the start of the rental. For starts between 15 December and 15 January, it is due at least 21 days beforehand.
Liability depositThe Liability Deposit is an actual card debit, not a pre-authorisation. It must be paid in one Visa or Mastercard transaction and cannot be split between cards; the cardholder must be present at pickup and return. Release depends on the contract and any investigation.
Standard protection packagesFor direct rentals, included Bronze carries an AUD 5,000 deposit and maximum liability for covered incidents. Silver costs AUD 39 per day with AUD 2,500; Gold costs AUD 49 per day with AUD 1,250. Both require at least seven days. Platinum costs AUD 77 per day, rising to AUD 119 per day for seven- to nine-day hires, with AUD 750. Platinum Plus costs AUD 130 per day for hires of at least ten days, with no deposit or liability for covered incidents. These are damage-liability reductions, not comprehensive insurance.
Protection exclusionsOverhead, underbody and interior damage, water immersion, wrong fuel, avoidable negligence and recovery from bogging or stranding remain excluded. Glass, tyres and awnings are covered only where the selected package or add-on includes them. One package covers one accident; continuing the hire can require a fresh deposit and package.
Adventurer protectionFor direct Adventurer rentals, included Bronze carries AUD 6,000 liability/deposit; Gold costs AUD 69 per day with AUD 2,000. Platinum and Platinum Plus are not available for this category.
Driver eligibilityDrivers must be at least 21, have at least 12 months’ driving experience and hold a full valid licence for the vehicle class. Learner, provisional and probationary licences are not accepted. A non-English licence requires the original plus a valid international driving permit or accredited translation. A licence cancellation in the previous two years makes a driver ineligible.
Additional driversTwo drivers are allowed, or up to three for a six-berth rental, without an additional-driver fee within those limits. All must attend pickup, present their licences and sign.
Child restraintsRental child seats or boosters cost AUD 40 per seat, subject to vehicle and location compatibility. Quatro permits one child seat or up to two boosters; Excursion and Royale permit up to two restraints or boosters within their specifications. The accompanying adult installs the restraint. An infant under six months requires written confirmation of a suitable seat, vehicle and pickup arrangement before booking.
Included equipmentStandard rentals include unlimited kilometres, bedding, towels, cooking and dining equipment, basic cleaning items, hoses, a power cable, camping table and chairs. Appliances and bathroom facilities depend on the category.
Pickup arrangementsCollection and return take place at the contracted location; hotel or home delivery is unavailable. Allow about one hour for pickup. Some regional points operate as agencies or dealers, and the booked category and pickup location must be confirmed together. Weekend or public-holiday appointments generally need at least 48 hours’ notice where offered.
One-way rentalsApproved direct one-way rentals to or from Perth or Darwin carry an indicative AUD 249 route fee. Approved routes among Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and regional agencies carry an indicative AUD 149 fee. The booked pair of locations controls availability and the applicable charge. Changing the return location after the hire begins requires authorisation and costs at least AUD 500.
Road restrictionsStandard vehicles are for sealed roads, with only reasonable, well-maintained access to a campground or attraction permitted at the renter’s damage risk. Adventurer allows some reasonable signed dirt or gravel roads at very low speed. Neither permission extends to beaches, riverbanks or water crossings. Travel above the snow line is prohibited from 1 May to 31 October.
Islands and ferriesTravel to islands other than mainland Australia and Tasmania requires written permission in the Rental Contract. A ferry booking does not itself grant permission to take the vehicle onto an island.
Electrical useHabitation air-conditioning, microwaves and power sockets require an external 240 V connection where fitted. Solar supports the 12 V systems; it does not make those appliances usable away from mains power. Let’s Go recommends a powered site every second or third night.
PetsThe ordinary rental contract prohibits pets, except notified assistance animals. Any proposed Journey rental with a pet needs written special terms covering the actual vehicle and booking before it can be relied on.
CancellationFor direct bookings under the terms effective from 23 February 2026, cancellation by email costs nothing more than 60 days before pickup; AUD 100 at 60–30 days; AUD 350 at 29–14 days; and the greater of AUD 500 or 50% of the total at 13–1 days. Pickup-day cancellation or a no-show costs 100%, including the one-way fee. Early return and late pickup do not refund unused days.
Return conditionReturn the vehicle clean, with fuel full, grey water and toilet emptied, and the equipment present. LPG must be full unless a refill is expressly prepaid or included. Cleaning or deodorising can cost up to AUD 500; returning grey water or a toilet unemptied can also cost up to AUD 500. Smoking is prohibited.
AssistanceIncluded 24/7 roadside assistance applies to inherent mechanical faults. Faults must be reported immediately, and repairs require authorisation except where needed to prevent greater harm. A replacement vehicle is discretionary.

Quick answers

Let’s Go Motorhomes FAQ

Does the Tourer have a shower and toilet?

It comes with a portable toilet but no indoor shower. Escape provides an onboard shower and toilet if both facilities are important to the trip.

Can a family of five travel in the Excursion?

Yes. Excursion has five travel seats and a maximum sleeping capacity of five. It allows up to two child restraints or boosters within its specifications; a specific child’s age and seat requirements still need to match the booked vehicle.

Is the Adventurer a 4WD camper?

No. Its greater ground clearance and tougher tyres come with limited permission for some signed dirt and gravel roads, not general off-road use. Water crossings, beaches and riverbanks remain prohibited, and Adventurer uses its own liability packages.

Does Let’s Go block the security deposit or take the money?

It debits the Liability Deposit from the card. For a standard Bronze rental that is AUD 5,000, paid in a single Visa or Mastercard transaction. This is separate from the booking deposit and rental price; the selected package determines the amount, and the contract governs its return.

Does Platinum Plus cover every kind of damage?

No. For eligible standard rentals of at least ten days, AUD 130 per day removes the deposit and liability for covered incidents, but exclusions such as overhead, underbody and interior damage remain. It is a liability-reduction package rather than comprehensive insurance and is not available for Adventurer.

Can I book Journey for a trip with my dog?

A pet trip in Journey requires written special terms for the actual booking. The ordinary Let’s Go rental contract prohibits pets other than notified assistance animals, so a Journey enquiry must establish the permission, vehicle and applicable charges before booking.

Can I hire a Let’s Go vehicle for a long weekend?

The standard minimum is seven days. A five- or six-day rental may be requested, but it is limited to Bronze protection; it is not an ordinary shorter version of every rate or package.
