Swift Go is the rental business of Swift Group Limited, which builds and owns the vehicles in its hire fleet. It opened in 2018, adding a direct rental operation to the group's motorhome manufacturing business.
The service runs from dedicated hire depots in Stockport and Livingston. These are separate from the wider Swift dealer network: a dealership selling Swift vehicles is not automatically a Swift Go collection point. Hire and vehicle sales do connect through the company's Try Before You Buy programme, which offers a purchase credit on qualifying direct rentals.

Editorial review
The strongest part of the offer is the choice within a single manufacturer's range. Different bed arrangements, storage layouts and bathroom designs give a hire a useful purpose beyond simply finding enough sleeping space. Much of the everyday touring equipment is included, making the basic package fairly straightforward to plan around. The trade-off is flexibility: the choice of depot affects the models offered, and the protection upgrade still leaves meaningful financial exposure.
Helpful or friendly staff recur in a small sample of five customer accounts from August 2026. The preparation picture is mixed within that sample: one customer describes a thorough beginner handover and a clean, stocked vehicle; another reports disappointing fridge and bathroom cleanliness, while a third mentions unspecified vehicle niggles.
Good points
- Less to add for a UK touring trip..Unlimited UK mileage, two named drivers and practical camping equipment are included, so the hire is not built around a basic vehicle alone.
- Dogs can join without a pet surcharge..The allowance for two medium-sized dogs makes the offer particularly useful for households travelling with more than one dog.
- An automatic option throughout the range..All current rental categories have automatic transmission, rather than restricting that choice to one vehicle format.
Things to consider
- The damage waiver covers only the first incident at the reduced excess..Buying it does not provide a lower excess throughout a hire with multiple incidents, and tyres and windscreens remain excluded.
- Winter equipment is limited..Swift Go does not supply winter tyres or snow chains, a material constraint when planning a European winter hire.

Swift Go's range combines two-berth campervans and motorhomes with larger layouts sleeping four or five. The differences are particularly useful when choosing how to sleep and store luggage, rather than selecting by berth count alone.
Among the larger Voyagers, the 494 pairs a rear island double with an overcab double. The five-berth 475 uses a rear lounge that converts to a double bed, a dinette single and an overcab double. The 485 instead has raised rear singles and a large garage, making bulky luggage a more practical proposition than in the 475. For a separate shower, the 540 combines a drop-down bed with a convertible lounge, while the 564 has a fixed rear double and a more modest garage.
The two-berth choices serve different preferences. Voyager 505 has a drop-down bed and is 6.19 metres long; Ascari 372 is a coachbuilt motorhome, while Trekker XL offers a campervan body with an oven and grill. The announced Carrera 122 adds gas-free living equipment, a lithium battery and inverter for 2027.
Model choice also depends on the starting depot. Voyager 505 and 564 are offered from Edinburgh, while Ascari 372 is offered from Manchester. Voyager 494, 475, 485, 540 and Trekker XL are listed for both. Swift Go may supply a comparable or superior substitute, so a named model is not guaranteed.

Try Before You Buy
A qualifying direct hire can offset up to seven nights' hire against a new Swift motorhome bought through an approved dealer. This makes it possible to spend time using the beds, storage and living space before placing an order.
To qualify, notify the dealer before purchase discussions and place the order within six months. Separate hires can contribute within that window, subject to the seven-night limit. The credit applies only to new vehicles, cannot be transferred and has no cash alternative.
